Essential || Chambray Shirt

I don’t think there’s any shirt in my closet the past year that I’ve worn more than my J.Crew Chambray Utility Shirt (destruction seen below). I literally pulled it out whenever I was in a hurry, but all the wearing and laundering has eventually rendered it torn and full of holes.  This, as any denimhead would agree, is fantastic, but it also means I can’t wear it as often.

Enter one of my most coveted brands.  RRL.  Ralph’s cult-like following is well-documented and his reproductions are spot on.  The prices are far higher than I can afford, so it’s always been far out of reach.  Until…

…I bought this shirt at a killer price on eBay.  Beautiful.

Details, Fit, and Quality.  The 3 criteria that defines all menswear is more than adequately satisfied in this chambray shirt.  Selvedge on the gusset, the inside of the placket, a triple chainstitch running across the entire garment, and even a writing-instrument pocket on the left breast.  The chambray is lightweight but strong, and it fits me spot on.  One of the things that bothered me about the J.Crew chambray was the fact that I couldn’t button up the collar as a sacrifice for a Small.  No problem there.  Everything is on point.
